This week for the Easter Egg I decided to go with Marble Madness. Marble Madness is an arcade game published by Atari in 1984. It is a puzzle game where you take control of a marble who has to complete an obstacle course. It is a very simplistic game that managed to garner a large following, prompting re-releases on most other platforms of the time (notably the NES). I chose the track from the NES game although the original was the first game to use the Atari System 1 FM sound chip. The original soundtrack was composed by Brad Fuller but for the NES version David Wise took over the reins. Wise, a long time composer for Rare, injected his own spin on the soundtrack and, in my opinion, produced a much better project. Marble Madness is a piece of video game history that should not and will not be forgotten anytime soon.
