The Southeastern Conference announced the 2019 football schedules for all schools Tuesday afternoon.
LSU will open the season at home against Georgia Southern on Aug. 31 before traveling to Austin to face Texas for the two teams’ first regular season meeting since 1954.
LSU and Texas will meet for the first time since the 2003 Cotton Bowl in the first game of a home-and-home series. The Longhorns won the last meeting 35-20.
LSU’s two other non-conference opponents will be Northwestern State on Sept. 14 and Utah State on Oct. 5
The Tigers will open SEC play against Vanderbilt in Nashville on Sept. 21 for the first time since 2010.
Flordia will finally make the trip back to Tiger Stadium after two straight years in Gainesville due to Hurricane Matthew in 2015.
LSU will also have home conference games against Arkansas, Auburn and Texas A&M, and will make trips to Alabama, Mississippi State and Ole Miss.
The Tigers will also have two bye weeks in 2019 — one on Sept. 28 before Utah State and one on Nov. 2 the week before Alabama.
