Expecting mothers across the United States might be gaining too much weight during their pregnancies. This extra weight gain could result in multiple issues. For example both the mother and the baby could get diabetes, or the baby could be born larger than expected causing an induced labor.
Most doctors recommend a specific amount of weight that a woman should gain during their pregnancy. This recomendation is based on age, height, weight and other factors based on individual mothers.
The LIFE-Moms Study shows that small changes to your behavior through counseling, could keep expecting mothers on the right track to an easier birth and a healthier baby.
If you have any questions about the LIFE-Moms Study or any other studies that LSU’s Pennington Research Center might be doing, you can visit their website or call them at 225-763-2862 for more information.
