Former LSU football player, Drake Davis, will be released on bond following the first of two hearings this morning.
Before the hearing, Davis was being held in jail without bond.
“We had hearings at two separate courts, and Mr. Davis’ lawyer put forth some different conditions that they suggested, which satisfied the courts concerns and our concerns,” D.A. Hillar Moore said. “The state is satisfied that the conditions imposed will be adequate.”
Davis must follow the following rules:
- Must reside 50 miles away from LSU
- Under house arrest with curfew
- Monitored by criminal justice services
- No contact with victim, his ex-girlfriend.
- No “smart communications” or internet access
- Must have a GPS monitor
- No pornographic material
“i think the conditions imposed are reasonable conditions that should deter any future behavior,” Moore said.
Moore says they aren’t treating this case any differently, even if Davis was an LSU athlete.
“Treat him like you treat anyone else in similar types of situations.” ” We have seen people alleged to offend, and then re-offend again, we’ve seen that time and time again.”
“I’m satisfied with the conditions at this point.”
