LSU is headed to its first New Year’s Six Bowl in the College Football Playoff era.
The Tigers, who finished No. 11 in the final CFP rankings, are headed to the Fiesta Bowl in Glendale, Arizona, on Jan. 1, against the University of Central Florida.
UCF is currently riding a 25-game win streak as it prepares to face the Tigers in in the Fiesta Bowl. The Golden Knights defeated Auburn in the Peach Bowl in 2018.
This will be LSU’s first appearance in the Fiesta Bowl in program history and the 50th all-time bowl appearance. The Tigers are seeking a 10-win season for the first time since 2013.
“It is a great honor to host two of the most prolific college football teams who bring with them extremely passionate fan groups,” said Fiesta Bowl chairman Steve Leach in a news release.
