Former LSU cornerback Patrick Peterson has released a statement regarding the allegations connecting him to Will Lyles.
“I have never had any type of relationship with Willie Lyles and he had no influence on my decision to attend LSU, or any other school for that matter,” Peterson said.
ESPN reported former Texas A&M secondary coach Van Malone said Lyles, a recruiting scout involved in an ongoing NCAA investigation, told him he needed at least $80,000 to sign Peterson, then a five-star recruit out of Pampano Beach High School.
“He had no involvement with my recruiting process and I resent the fact that my name has come up in these allegations,” Peterson said.
