In all likelihood, junior pitcher Brittany Mack is going to experience something in the next couple weeks that she has never experienced before — the end of a season.
The final weeks of the last two seasons each came to a crashing halt as Mack went down with arm injuries before the final series.
“It was rough,” Mack said. “Two years in a row it was the exact same thing. I missed the last [Southeastern Conference] series, missed the SEC tournament and [NCAA] regionals. This year my goal was to actually finish and make it looser.”
Mack said she took quickly to the changes, but the Round Rock, Texas, native admitted she had trouble adjusting to one new change — taking time off.
“I’m a workhorse,” Mack said. “I’ll come out here and I’ll pitch for two hours straight just to get better, and obviously I can’t do that because my arm hasn’t been able to last. It was hard to just sit back and watch, but it’s definitely helped me
