LSU men’s basketball coach Trent Johnson grabbed his third signee in this year’s recruiting class Tuesday afternoon when Scout.com three-star point guard Anthony Hickey pledged to LSU, according to Scout.com.
Hickey announced his decision in his high school’s gym after taking a trip to Baton Rouge on April 24.
The 5-foot-10-inch, 160-pound point guard also considered South Carolina, Butler, Western Kentucky and Dayton.
Hickey, winner of Kentucky’s 2011 Mr. Basketball, led his Christian County High School team to the state championship after averaging 18 points and four assists during his senior campaign.
Scout three-star shooting guard John Isaac from Leesville and Scout four-star center Johnny O’Bryant are the other two members of the 2011 class.
