Sixteen-year-old Austin Holcomb, a junior at McKinley High School in Baton Rouge, went missing Monday, Jan. 24.
Austin was last seen near the intersection of Aster Street and Nicholson Drive, where he lives with his father.
Holcomb is a straight-A student and dual-enrolled at the University, said Ryan Holcomb, Austin’s father.
He was in all his classes at school on Jan. 24 and hasn’t been seen since, Ryan Holcomb said. He said Austin took a few things from the house, including his Xbox and toothbrush, before disappearing.
Ryan Holcomb said it is possible Austin is in the Lafayette area, where his mother lives. He said a custody battle between him and Austin’s mother has created a difficult situation.
Austin is in the gifted and talented program at McKinley and plays varsity soccer. Ryan Holcomb said Austin missed his district championship soccer game last Thursday, which is “really unlike him.”
Ryan Holcomb said Austin often practiced soccer on the field in front of the LSU Natatorium and played pickup games on the Parade Ground.
People with information of Austin’s whereabouts are asked to call the Baton Rouge Police Department at 225-389-2000.
Austin is 5 feet 6 inches, 125 pounds with light brown hair and brown eyes.
“His parents are very worried about him and want him to return home,” Ryan Holcomb said.
