Ole Miss coach Houston Nutt suspended three players Tuesday, including starting quarterback Randall Mackey, for Saturday’s game against No. 1 LSU for a violation of team rules. Nutt suspended Mackey, a Bastrop native and high school teammate of junior wide receiver Rueben Randle, leading rusher Jeff Scott and backup running back Korvic Neat. Nutt did not say what the violation was, but said junior Zack Stoudt will start in place of Mackey. This is Mackey’s second suspension of the season after he was held out of the Rebels’ season opener against BYU following his arrest for disorderly conduct after a bar fight. Mackey has thrown for 1,112 yards this season with seven touchdowns and five interceptions. Scott leads all Rebels running backs with 529 rushing yards and six rushing touchdowns. Neat has only recorded four carries in 2011 for seven rushing yards.
