BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) — Louisiana’s health department says someone who ate cantaloupe about two weeks ago has been diagnosed with listeria.
Department spokeswoman Lisa Faust said Sunday that epidemiologists are investigating whether the cantaloupe can be linked directly to the illness.
She said she cannot confirm any details about the person.
Cantaloupe from Jensen Farms in Colorado has been linked to more than 80 illnesses and as many as 17 deaths in 19 states.
Louisiana’s agriculture commissioner said Friday that Jensen Farms had added Louisiana to its recall list for cantaloupes shipped between July 29 and Sept. 10.
