The Baton Rouge Police Department has closed its investigation into the Aug. 19 incident at Shady’s Bar involving senior quarterback Jordan Jefferson, said BRPD Sgt. Don Stone.
Stone said BRPD will not make anymore arrests from the bar fight.
A grand jury reduced Jefferson’s second degree battery charges to simple battery and dismissed all charges against sophomore linebacker Josh Johns on Wednesday.
The two players were suspended from the football team following their arrests but have since been reinstated by LSU coach Les Miles.
Jefferson should receive a notice of arraignment within a few weeks, and his attorneys will schedule his arraignment at that point.
Michael Bienvenu, an attorney representing the alleged victims, told The Advocate on Thursday he plans to file a civil suit against Jefferson after the criminal proceedings have finished.
