Student Government Resolution 11-04, passed by Faculty Senate during its March 2011 meeting, decrees that no graded course work assigned during Dead Week may total more than five percent of the course’s semester grade according to a broadcast email sent out Wednesday afternoon.
This does not include projects which began prior to Dead Week or over the course of the semester.
Thomas Rogers, SG director of academics, says the change was made because “having ten percent of your grade decided a week before your finals” was not “good for students.”
Any students who notice an assignment in their syllabi which violates this resolution may email [email protected].
“The earlier we know, the better,” Rogers said.
