Parking permits for students, faculty and staff will arrive later than expected this semester.
New permits will be mailed early this week, said Gary Graham, director of the Office of Parking, Traffic and Transportation. He said students can expect to receive permits at their home residences soon, but parking legally in student zones without a permit will be allowed until Sept. 6.
Graham said the delay is due to shipping problems at the decal printing company, and permits for the 2011-2012 school year were not shipped from the printer to the University until the weekend of Aug. 19.
Parking violations for unregistered vehicles are usually withheld until the second week of classes, but the grace period will be extended to accommodate the delay, Graham said.
