The future stars of LSU will shine in the national spotlight today in the annual Under Armour All-American Game.
LSU commits Anthony Johnson, Jarvis Landry and La’el Collins will all participate for the White team in the game, which will appear on ESPN at 6 p.m. The game features 90 of the top high school prospects from across the nation.
The three members of “The Fam,” the nickname given to the close-knit members of LSU’s 2011 recruiting class, have impressed ESPN analysts with strong play during the practices leading up to the game.
Landry, a four-star wide receiver from Lutcher, received especially high praise from one analyst who said he’s “proving to be one of the better all-around receivers on White team.”
Johnson, who holds the national high school record for career sacks, has also been a major attention grabber thus far. Johnson received a five-star rating from Scout.com and ESPN ranks him as the top defensive tackle in the country.
Practices haven’t gone as well for Collins, a five-star offensive tackle from Baton Rouge. Collins tweaked his ankle during the first practice but has returned to full strength and should play in the game.
Collins will have his hands full when he lines up against Red team defensive end Jadeveon Clowney, the No. 1 overall player in the nation. The Rock Hill, S.C., native lists LSU as one of the finalists to land his services and will visit later this month.
