The lineup for the 2012 Jazz and Heritage Festival, announced Tuesday night, boasts headliners like Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Foo Fighters, Eagles and My Morning Jacket.
The New Orleans festival’s lineup spotlights an array of eclectic music genres.
As always, the two-weekend event will feature a handful of classic performing artists, including the likes of Al Green, Herbie Hancock and Bonnie Raitt.
Additionally, in keeping with standard music-festival expectations, a slew of indie acts will make appearances. Bon Iver, riding the success of four recent Grammy nominations, joins Florence and the Machine, Feist and Lafayette group GIVERS as a few of the festival’s token alternative shows.
Other notable performers include John Mayer, Trombone Shorty, Zac Brown Band, Ne-Yo, Janelle Monae and New Orleans-based band Better than Ezra.
The festival will take place the weekends of April 27-29 and May 3-6 at the New Orleans Fair Grounds Race Course.
