The Louisiana Office of Student Financial Assistance announced today that all TOPS payments to colleges are being suspended immediately due to concerns regarding the state budget.
The New Orleans Advocate reports that Gus Wales, a spokesman for LOSFA, described the announcement as a “precautionary measure” in the face of state budget cuts.
Students may owe tuition to the university for the current semester if this decision stands.
LOFSA has stated that more information will be provided as it becomes available.
