Garnett becomes the third linebacker who has committed to the Tigers, including early enrollee Michael Divinity. The other linebacker, Erick Fowler, will reportedly make his official announcement at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday.
247Sports projected Garnett would commit to TCU, but Garnett had an in-home visit from defensive coordinator Dave Aranda and linebackers coach Bradley Dale Peveto last week. He then visited LSU on Jan. 29 and ultimately chose the Tigers over Louisiana-Monroe and other interested schools.
The 6-foot-3, 250-pound linebacker will be a preferred walk-on, according to a report by The Advocate.
