The LSU men’s basketball team will be down to 10 scholarship players when it takes on Arkansas Tuesday night, as sophomore forward Aaron Epps did not make the trip due to illness and sophomore center Elbert Robinson III is also out sick, LSU spokesman Kent Lowe confirmed to The Daily Reveille.
Neither Epps nor Robinson played in the Tigers’ 81-65 loss to Tennessee on Jan. 20, based on coach’s decisions.
Both reserves’ playing time has been limited or sporadic in Southeastern Conference play. Averaging just nine minutes per game on the season, Robinson hasn’t played more than nine minutes since the Jan. 19 loss to Texas A&M and did not appear at all in four other conference games.
Prior to an 11-minutes outing against South Carolina, Epps hadn’t played more than seven minutes since Jan. 13 win against Ole Miss, averaging 9.5 minutes per game on the season.
The two combined to average just 6.3 points per game.
LSU is already playing without senior guard Keith Hornsby, who is out indefinitely after re-aggravating a hernia injury from earlier in the season.
