LSU fans can take a sigh of relief.
After suffering a “slight” ankle sprain that forced him to miss practice last week, junior running back Leonard Fournette is no longer in a walking boot.
“He was running today and yesterday,” Miles said. “Next time we take the field my guess is he’ll [Fournette] be practicing.”
The Tigers will have Wednesday off and return to practice on Thursday. Fournette did not participate in LSU’s scrimmage on Tuesday, but the team did rush for 288 yards.
Senior wide receiver Travin Dural returned to practice after a hand injury forced him to miss Saturday’s scrimmage, Miles said.
Tigers prepping for Wisconsin
LSU’s Sept. 3 season opener against Wisconsin at Lambeau Field is nearing.
Tuesday, Miles said LSU finished its final, full-contact practice for fall camp, while also prepping, specifically, for the Badgers and upcoming adversaries.
The Tigers spent more than 100 plays during Tuesday’s scrimmage in Tiger Stadium, including offense, defense and special teams, Miles said.
“We had a long go today. Last tackling for the camp,” the 12-year coach said. “We looked at Wisconsin and we looked at LSU. We also looked at some future opponents.
LSU tossed for 220 yards and rushed for 288, Miles said, bluntly. Miles added junior quarterback Brandon Harris completed 12 of his 15 passes for 133 yards and two touchdowns.
“We got a lot accomplished,” Miles said.
Offensive line continues to be moved around
Is LSU’s starting offensive line still on the move?
Miles said sophomore offensive lineman Maea Teuhema rotated with sophomore offensive lineman Toby Weathersby and junior offensive lineman K.J. Malone.
“They’re all starters in my mind,” Miles said.
