FINAL: LSU 89, Georgia 85.
- Well, things happened. A lot of things. LSU led by more than 10 points with less than three minutes remaining, and Georgia cut the Tigers lead to one within the final minute. Fans had left already, but the game wasn’t over until the 55th whistle was blown — an accidental foul from Georgia on Antonio Blakeney with 0:01 remaining on the clock. How else should this one have ended? Regardless, the Tigers move to 13-7, 6-2 SEC, an sufficing record for conference play.
LIVE UPDATES: 3:33, 2nd. LSU 77, UGA 66.
- It’s officially become the official’s heist of 2016. Combined there has been 46 fouls called tonight. Georgia coach Mark Fox is less than pleased, to say the least. 11-point game as it heads into the final three minutes.
LIVE UPDATES: 7:26, 2nd. LSU 61, UGA 59.
- Whistles and free throws have heisted this game tonight. Combined, there has been 54 free throws attempted. LSU’s 23-for-34 from the stripe and Georgia is 12-for-20. Both teams have started to slow down as two of the Bulldogs premier bigs have fouled out, including its team-leading scorer on the season Yante Maten.
LIVE UPDATES: 11:07, 2nd. LSU 53, UGA 46.
- Both teams are not struggling with foul trouble. Craig Victor landed his fourth infraction in the latter half of the second period, and three Bulldog big men now have three, or more. Kenny Gaines, Georgia’s leading scorer with 15 points, is undergoing treatment by the Bulldog training staff, and it seems to be a lower back issue for the senior.
LIVE UPDATES: 15:49, 2nd. LSU 42, UGA 39.
- Much, much faster pace from both teams to begin the second half. LSU’s continues to keep pressure on Georgia’s post men with a relentless attack inside. Three of Georgia’s key post players have three fouls. Craig Victor also has three.
LIVE UPDATES: Halftime. LSU 33, UGA 30.
- It was a rocky start, offensively, for both teams. LSU is shooting 38 percent from the field, and 0-for-7 from three. Georgia is shooting 40 percent and 3-for-11 from beyond the arc. Both teams are playing well defensively, keeping the game slow-paced. The difference has been Georgia’s eight turnovers compared to LSU’s four. With such lasting, clock-draining possession, each one counts, and it will be a snail race until the finish.
- LSU’s dominating the game inside, but Georgia’s bigs are being physical with LSU’s post guys. 22 of LSU’s 33 points have come from inside the paint, contrasted to Georgia’s eight from around the rim.
LIVE UPDATES: 3:14, 1st. LSU 28, UGA 22.
- Tonight hasn’t been the prettiest offensive game from either team by any means. LSU’s 0-for-6 from 3-point land, and 18 of its 26 points have come inside the paint. Not sure if it’s a testament to two solid defenses or an indictment of both offenses tonight. Either way, it’s a six-point game with three minutes remaining in the first half.
LIVE UPDATES: 11:25, first half. LSU 18, UGA 9.
- LSU came out fiery. Its defense began sharp with active hands, holding Georgia deep into its own shot clock. LSU has forced four Georgia turnovers in the first eight minutes, and the Tigers are on an 8-0 run, now.
