President Barack Obama made his first visit to Baton Rouge Thursday speaking at McKinley Magnet High School.
Baton Rouge residents applauded the president’s visit and reacted positively the answers that Obama provided to the open questions of the audience.
“This will be very up lifting for a lot of young people and showing them,” Baton Rouge Mayor Kip Holden said.
Among the topics Obama covered were education, global warming and even LSU basketball player Ben Simmons. The president stated that one of his coworkers actually played basketball with Simmons father and referred to the LSU Basketball standout as “someone that’s one in a million.”
