Some time after 8 p.m. Tuesday, Baton Rouge firefighters responded to a fire at Patrick F. Taylor Hall, an engineering building which is under renovation.
Around 8:50 p.m., LSU Media Relations Director Ernie Ballard confirmed that the fire was on the roof of Patrick F. Taylor’s “new construction” but had been extinguished.
Shortly afterward, the LSU official account tweeted that police had confirmed no one was in the building during the fire.
Ballard was unable to offer details at this time regarding the extent of the damage or the exact cause of the fire.
