Former LSU forward Ben Simmons announced on Twitter that he has signed a shoe deal with Nike.
Using Bleacher Report’s Uninterrupted Twitter handle, Simmons said that he “excited” and “blessed” to be with the shoe company.
The potential No. 1 pick in the 2016 NBA Draft was deciding between Nike and Adidas but ultimately decided to sign with Nike. Simmons, is represented by Klutch Sports, who represents Cavaliers forward Lebron James.
According to a report by The Vertical, Simmons’ deal is expected to be one of the biggest contracts signed by Nike, but not as big as deals signed by James or Thunder forward Kevin Durant.
In his lone season at LSU, Simmons averaged 19.2 points, 11.8 rebounds and 4.8 assists.
