DJ 5/4 returns with another installment of The Math Lab Special Summer Edition Math Rock Masterclass, this time taking the focus to arguably one of the most important math rock bands of all time: Don Caballero. Although the group has eschewed the label, Don Caballero is an ideal example of math rock. Challenging polyrhythms, atonal and deconstructed guitar playing, and a complete lack of internal structure help create impossibly catchy tunes that don’t seem to match any pre-established genres. And that’s why The Math Lab loves the Don. This masterclass is a two hour journey through the constantly morphing products of Don Caballero. Tune in to The Math Lab every Sunday from 7 – 9 PM on 91.1 KLSU.
