A University student was killed Monday morning after the car she was riding in crossed the center highway line and collided with another vehicle in St. Gabriel, 13 miles south of Baton Rouge.
St. Gabriel Police said doctors pronounced Lori Ann Rholdon, a communication disorders senior from Harvey, dead at 8:15 a.m. at Our Lady of the Lake Hospital in Baton Rouge.
Police said Leia Theresa Oubre, a communication disorders senior from Gretna, was driving the vehicle south on Hwy. 30 when her car crossed the center line and struck a car driven by Kyle Grace of St. Gabriel, traveling north.
Police said Oubre was taken to the hospital and suffered serious injuries.
Grace suffered minor injuries.
Police said the accident is still under investigation.
Elizabeth Walker, a communication disorders junior, said the two students were on their way to an office clinic for a class in Galvez.
