Police are searching for an individual involved in an armed robbery Nov. 25 in the west CEBA parking lot.
Police said an individual approached the victim and displayed a small, dark handgun and demanded the victim’s money. The victim showed the suspect that the wallet did not contain money and was ordered to run away, LSUPD Capt. Mark Shaw said.
Police suspect another individual was involved. The victim saw another individual standing four or five cars away, but both men fled south across Nicholson Extension, Shaw said. Police have not confirmed if the other individual was directly involved in the robbery.
The victim was not injured and gave a description of only one suspect. The suspect holding the handgun is described as a slim, dark-complected man in his early 20s, about 5 feet 9 inches tall. The individual also has a moustache and was last seen wearing an olive-green jacket with a hood.
Shaw said more crimes are committed during the holiday season because criminals take advantage of people because they are preoccupied.
“Be wary, take extra precautions and don’t overload yourself with packages,” Shaw said.
Shaw said officers are stationed in areas of high criminal activity to work special details in hopes of capturing criminals.
Anyone with information about this crime should contact LSUPD at 578-3231.
