LSUPD arrested two people in the past two weeks on unrelated charges.
Capt. Ricky Adams said officers arrested Keon Wilson, 22, 137 Taylor Street, on June 29 on a warrant from Baton Rouge police for false imprisonment.
Adams said officers saw several suspicious people in the area around Kirby-Smith Hall and the apartments on the north end of campus. After conducting background checks on the individuals, Adams said officers determined Wilson had an active warrant from Baton Rouge Police
Wilson was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison as a fugitive. The other individuals were not arrested.
On July 8, officers arrested Kamau Butler, 22, 3505 Redlands Drive, Baton Rouge, on charges of possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, Adams said.
Adams said officers stopped a suspicious person around the North Campus Apartments. While speaking to officers, Adams said Butler allegedly reached into his pants pocket, removed a bag of marijuana and dropped it to the ground.
Butler was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison.
