Guess what folks? It’s that time of year again for David Theard’s bowl projections. The one’s in bold have already accepted an invite to that particular bowl, so I can’t get that wrong.
Sugar Bowl, Jan. 4- If LSU beats a very talented Georgia team twice in one season and does not go to the Sugar Bowl, something’s wrong with the BCS. But it looks like that might happen because the Tigers got zero help last weekend outside of their dominating win over Arkansas.
Oklahoma vs. USC
Fiesta Bowl, Jan. 2- Getting its brains pounded in by Oklahoma may have helped Texas’ cause, because now the Longhorns can’t blow the Big XII Championship Game. Florida State with two losses actually ends up being an attractive matchup for the Longhorns.
Texas vs. Florida State
Rose Bowl, Jan. 1- LSU may not get the Sugar, but the grand daddy of them all is not a bad consolation. Michigan goes by virtue of winning the Big Ten Championship. The Tigers must take care of business against Georgia this weekend.
LSU vs. Michigan
Orange Bowl, Jan. 1- It’s going to be an Ohio State- Miami rematch from last year’s national championship. What’s the difference? Both offenses are terrible and nobody cares this time around.
