As of May 15, graduating seniors living on campus will be moving out of their resident halls and into Blake Hall until May 21, the day of their graduation.
Students staying on campus for the intercession term also will be moving into Blake.
Deborah Baker, Residential Life director, said 30 graduating seniors will be moving into Blake Hall at the end of this semester.
Baker said the 30 seniors come from various dorms on campus.
Only graduating seniors living in West Campus Apartments will remain in their dorms, she said. Unlike the East Campus Apartments, the WCA is open all year.
WCA will remain open because it is smaller, Baker said. Also, Residential Life needs the opportunity to begin renovations on the ECA, which has been open for at least six years.
An ECA resident adviser, who chose to withhold her name, said ECA will be closing for the entire summer.
This is the first time the on-campus apartments will be closing, she said.
The adviser said a meeting was held to inform residents of the building closure and to discuss their plans for the summer.
She said graduating students will be accommodated in the Lod Cook Alumni Center at the end of the fall semester.
But since there will be space in the resident halls after the spring semester is finished, the seniors will be moved into Blake Hall.
Baker said graduating seniors will not be charged for their stay in Blake Hall, but intercession students will have to pay.
Erica Price, a Residential Life receptionist, said students will have to pay $228 to live in Blake Hall for the intercession period.
