The volleyball team spent yesterday traveling to the Universityof Florida to prepare for the 8 p.m. matchup tonight. The Tigerswill then travel to Athens, Ga. to compete against the Bulldogs.LSU has faced both teams earlier this season at home.
No. 10 Florida beat LSU in three games and have yet to lose aSoutheastern Conference match. Their NCAA record for consecutiveregular season conference wins stands at 136 matches.
“Anytime you play a top level opponent, it is a greatopportunity,” coach Fran Flory said in a news release.”We have to go out there and play like we have everything togain and nothing to lose. We need to play hard and playphysical.”
LSU has not defeated Florida since 1991. The match up againstthe Georgia Bulldogs will begin at 12:30 p.m. Sunday. LSU alreadyhas defeated Georgia at home this season.
“We felt we did a good job against both of these teams thelast time we played them,” Flory said. “We know theyare going to make some adjustments to our offense and be moreprepared for us, but we also think that we are more prepared andhave become more productive.”
After this weekend, the Tigers return home to host Kentucky inanother SEC match up Sunday at 1:30 p.m. in the Pete MaravichAssembly Center.
