The Art of Clementine Hunter exhibit is coming to a close soon.
This exhibit showcases world-renowned artists’ work and is set to conclude on Oct. 30.
Hunter, a Louisiana-born artist, depicts her rural upbringing and tells stories about her family, religion, and culture through her art.
The exhibit features a wide array of her work, details about the inspiration behind the paintings, and information on forgeries.
“…All of these [paintings] are her everday actives and things she would see in the past and at the time she was painting them, and thats really important for us to capture the culture of Lousiana,” Director of Programs and Chief Currator Michelle Shulte said.
This exhbit allows visitors to take a glimpse into Hunter’s life experiences and transports viewers to a simpler time through the artwork.
