With baseball season just three weeks away, and the Tigers having lost during playoffs last season, they are gearing up for some hard fought games awaiting them.
“I don’t know if we are a very young team, but we are a new team,” Head Coach Jay Johnson said.
With a total of twelve returning members out of 40 total, the Tigers were already facing a major challenge with an almost completely new roster. A combination of transfers and freshmen, the returners stepped up to the plate to help them adjust in any way they could.
“When you get here, they don’t always know what this was built on; it was built on great players,” Johnson said.
On top of an almost completely new team, they have an almost completely new pitching lineup. In no particular order the eight pitchers are Conner Ware, Casan Evans, Zac Cowan, Gavin Guidry, Kade Anderson, Anthony Eyanson, Chase Shores and William Schmidt.
Although the returning 12 have been thrown a nasty curveball, they have been the soul to the team and getting them up and running for what is hoped to be an electric season.
