As LSU Baseball prepares to go back in season, they took a hard loss last season after losing in the playoffs and then losing 28 of their returning staff to either the draft or the transfer portal. But, Head Coach Jay Johnson, is looking at this new roster as a way to build the team up.
After being with the LSU Baseball team for three years, going into his fourth year, he has learned a lot about the team and what they need to exhibit in order for them to take home more national championships.
“The toughness piece, and again that’s not getting into a fight with somebody, unless you need to, but they suspend you for that so we are not going to condone that,” Johnson said.
“Togetherness, and kind of centering around those two things. And then execution, everybody always wants to make sports about everything other than what happens on the field, but it’s about execution.
“And then how do you get to execution, where talent becomes a usable skill, that’s all mindset.”
