Music’s Biggest Night: Highlights from the 67th Annual Grammy Awards
LOS ANGELES — The 67th Annual Grammy Awards took place Sunday night, celebrating the best in music with star-studded performances, emotional tributes, and major award wins.
Throughout the evening, the Recording Academy raised $7 million in viewer donations for MusiCares, which will help victims of the recent wildfires.
In a tribute to first responders, members of the Los Angeles Fire Department walked the red carpet and presented the night’s top award, album of the year.
“Thank you for supporting all of us and recognizing the heroes that are standing behind me and the sheroes,” Fire Chief Anthony Marrone said while presenting the award.
Performances
The show opened with a rendition of Randy Newman’s “I Love L.A.,” performed by Dawes, Brittany Howard, Brad Paisley, St. Vincent, Sheryl Crow and John Legend.
Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars teamed up for a tribute to Los Angeles with a performance of “California Dreamin’.” The duo later won best pop duo/group performance for their collaboration, “Die With a Smile.”
Other standout performances included tributes to legendary producer and composer Quincy Jones, featuring Cynthia Erivo, Stevie Wonder, Janelle Monáe and Louisiana native Lainey Wilson. They performed classics including “Fly Me to the Moon,” “Let the Good Times Roll” and “We Are the World.”
In a new addition to this year’s ceremony, nearly all best new artist nominees performed, including Benson Boone, Doechii, Teddy Swims, Raye, Shaboozey, Sabrina Carpenter and Chappell Roan. Roan later won best new artist for her debut album, The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess.
Awards
Sabrina Carpenter won best pop vocal album for Short n’ Sweet, while Doechii took home best rap album for Alligator Bites Never Heal.
Kendrick Lamar earned both song of the year and record of the year for his hit Not Like Us. He is set to perform at the Super Bowl halftime show on Feb. 9 in New Orleans.
The album of the year category featured strong contenders, including The Tortured Poets Department, Short n’ Sweet, Hit Me Hard or Soft and The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess. The award ultimately went to Beyoncé for Cowboy Carter, marking her first-ever win in the category.

Taylor Swift paid homage to her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, in a Kansas City Chiefs red minidress custom-made by Vivienne Westwood. The dress featured a small “T” accent on her upper thigh.
Jaden Smith made a bold fashion statement in a black Louis Vuitton tuxedo, accessorized with a large headpiece inspired by a vampire castle, created by ABODI.
Olivia Rodrigo opted for a classic look, wearing a vintage black Versace gown with cutouts on the sides.
Troye Sivan brought cooler tones to the red carpet in a periwinkle silk Prada suit.
Alicia Keys turned heads in a statement-making Dolce & Gabbana ensemble, complete with a jeweled corset and a striking headpiece.
