LSU Baseball suffered their first loss of the season on Friday as Stony Brook pulled off a 5 to 2 victory.
Starting pitcher Thatcher Hurd racked up 8 strikeouts, but finished with a 9.0 ERA. Stony Brook managed to bat through the windy conditions at Alex Box, while LSU struggled to get any offense going all day.
The Tigers managed to score 2 runs to tie it up in the 2nd inning. Hurd then walked in a run in the 4th. In the 8th, Stony Brook brought 2 more home to secure the victory.
Stony Brook continues to be a thorn in the Tigers’ side, as today made many LSU fans reminisce back to Stony Brook’s 2012 postseason win in Alex Box Stadium.
