Coach Jay Johnson spoke to the media after LSU Baseball’s 4-0 win over Xavier on Friday night.
When asked about the team’s offense throughout the game, Coach Johnson spoke about the team’s hot start and the stagnancy after that.
“We were on it early,” Coach Johnson said. “We got a little unlucky.”
Coach Johnson also took the chance to highlight Ashton Larson, who made his first start tonight in Purple and Gold.
“I love him, I think he’s a star in the future of the program,” Coach Johnson said. “I get very optimistic about a bright future, you know especially with, you know, Steven obviously, Ashton, Jake Brown.”
The Tigers will take the field tomorrow at 5 p.m. for game two against Xavier.
