LSU gymnastics’ Kailin Chio claimed her eighth SEC Freshman of the Week award, tying her for most by any freshman in conference history, in a historic Week 10 performance.
Chio continued her hot streak against No. 10 Georgia on Friday, earning her a sixth consecutive conference honor. She is not only the best freshman in the country but is staking claims as one of the best gymnasts in the country.
Chio posted a 9.950 on vault, a 9.925 on bars, a 9.950 on beam and a 9.975 on the floor. Chio’s all-around added up to 39.800 and is now tied for the second-highest all-around score in the country this season.
Chio continues to rank fifth in the all-around with an NQS of 39.665. She is in the top 20 at every event, with an NQS of 9.900 or better, and is in the top five on vault and beam.
The Tigers look to finish the regular season strong as they travel to face No. 14 Auburn on Friday at 7 p.m. CT.
