Jalen Reed is returning to LSU for his senior season after suffering a season-ending injury at the beginning of the 2024 season.
Reed is a forward from Jackson, Miss., who chose to play college ball for the Tigers in 2022.
Reed was hot to start his junior season, averaging 11.1 points per game and 6.5 rebounds a game through eight games. His season ended abruptly during the Dec. 3 matchup versus Florida State when he tore his ACL.
The veteran’s presence helped push LSU to a 7-1 start before his exit. The Tigers went 8-17 without Reed to wrap up the season.
Reed will be a key returner for MacMahon and the Tigers this season as they look to perform better than 15th in the SEC.
Reed’s size and efficiency from the field can help LSU be competitive. Reed has a career field goal percentage of 49.4%, 37.3% from three, averaging 3.9 rebounds.
Reed is the first player to confirm their return to LSU following the disappointing season. LSU hopes to retain other key pieces from the season.
The Tigers also look to bring a talented portal class to join their No. 33 ranked recruiting class.
