After the Tigers took a hard loss against Texas, they were looking to make a comeback, and they definitely showed out as they took on UL-Lafayette where they beat them 17-4 in an offense dominating game.
With batters like Cade Arramabide, Jared Jones and Tanner Reaves hitting dingers over the fence, they set the tone quickly that their offense was not to be messed with. With a total of 29 at bats for the Tigers and 11 hits, they got their bats swinging early and it paid off.
One thing LSU needs to improve on is their pitching. With five pitchers taking the mound on Tuesday and neither of them lasting more than three innings, it’s not looking so hot for the Tigers on defense. Starting pitcher Jaden Noot had a total of 14 at bats and allowed five hits.
“The guys that we put in the game, we definitely believe in them,” Head Coach Jay Johnson said. “And just as we constantly talked about with Jared Jones over three years, and even three weeks before the season to the season opener and guys getting better; we’re on top of that.”
“We had a good meeting on Monday morning with a few things, for a few guys and I think guys will continue to advance.”
