The major struggle of LSU’s offense has been their run game. Whether it has been due to injuries or teammates not being on the same page. It is clear that something has to change.
“We’re looking for balance in our offense,” LSU Head Coach Brian Kelly said. “And sometimes the circumstances are such that a run call doesn’t make sense here.”
LSU will look to find that balance through the running back trio of Caden Durham, Harlem Berry, and Juwan Johnson. Durham had an impressive outing against South Carolina last season with 98 yards and 2 rushing touchdowns. Hopefully, he can replicate the same urgency and focus on details.
LSU Offensive Lineman Braelin Moore said, “We just lack details. We lack execution. I can’t tell you why that is. We’re trying to figure it out. We just got to focus more. I would say.”
South Carolina’s defense won’t make it easy for the Tigers, but especially their defensive line. Teams are forced to drop back pivot to a passing offense, but South Carolina then shows why their front seven is also very talented at sacking the quarterback
“I think the strength of their defense is the front seven. They got a good front four, and they got good backers too,” said Moore. “We just got to be very technique sound and hone in on what needs to be done. And then go do it.”
If LSU is able to be efficient using their run game, the Tigers will have a good chance at winning this game, if not your guess is as good as mine.
