Baton Rouge-born rapper NBA YoungBoy says he would only consider returning to his hometown for a performance if it was hosted in LSU’s Tiger Stadium.  

The rapper has not returned to Baton Rouge for a show in almost a decade, performing last in his home town in 2017. YoungBoy expressed in an interview with Complex that he has no interest in a homecoming unless the show could be hosted at LSU Tiger Stadium, stating, “Only if I could perform at LSU stadium. That’s the only way.”

YoungBoy, also known as Kentrell Gaulden, is one of Baton Rouge’s most popular artists, but the closest he has played to the city in recent years has been New Orleans. His 2025 “Make America Slime Again Tour” held two shows at the Smoothie King Center. The shows were sold-out events that garnered a large fan and police presence.

With LSU’s new concert series, “Death Valley Live,” hosting concerts by popular artists,  YoungBoy’s homecoming return to Baton Rouge may be more possible than some fans believe.
