Rei Zimmerman, Reveille Production Editor
Why did you join the Reveille?
I joined the Reveille to gain some experience in the publishing world! I hoped to meet other students who were looking to educate the public and engage in discourse.
What positions have you held at the Reveille?
I started at the Reveille in the fall of 2022 and was a copy editor for two years, before becoming chief designer in the fall of 2024, and finally moving up to production editor this fall.
What’s your favorite thing about working at the Reveille?
My favorite thing about working at the Reveille is the community of people we have built, and the relationship created between us and the readers.
What’s your favorite story that you’ve worked on so far?
As a member of the production team, nearly all of the stories have gone through me at some point, but my favorite stories to work on are those about sports – especially football. These are the stories that everyone gets excited for and my favorite has been Legacy on the Line, a sports column by Marty Sullivan in Fall of 2024 which asked the question of the legacy of the LSU vs Alabama rivalry game.
What do you hope to do after graduation?
After graduation I hope to pursue a PhD in English and become a professor. If that doesn’t work out for me, I intend on staying in print journalism by copyediting and designing pages for a professional newspaper.
