Bregman also accepted an invitation to play with Team USA for its 33-game international tour this summer, joining teammate Aaron Nola.
Nola named SEC Co-Pitcher of the Week
Sophomore righty Aaron Nola was named SEC Co-Pitcher of the Week on Monday after firing a complete game shutout in a 5-0 win against Alabama on Friday. Nola limited the Crimson Tide to three hits while surrendering one walk and striking out 10.
The Catholic High product became the first Tiger pitcher to hurl back-to-back complete games since Kevin Gausman at the end of last season.
Nola leads the SEC with 82 strikeouts while maintaining a 2.15 ERA as the Tigers’ Friday night starter.
Nola shares the honor with Ole Miss junior righty Bobby Wahl, who also pitched a complete game shutout while taking a no-hitter into the sixth inning during a 5-0 win against Tennessee.
