As any OG [original gladiator] knows, it can be difficult to keep up with the fast-paced world of Pope & Associates.
So, now that season three is in full swing, let’s take a look at the top 5 moments from last week’s episode to help us prepare for tonight.
Recap: Episode 3.02 “Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner”
1. Flashbacks
The majority of last week’s episode was made up of interesting flashback scenes with Olivia and Papa Pope. We found out that a few years prior to what is supposed to be present day, Olivia distanced herself from her dad after finding out he was the head of the B316 program. This partly explains their strained, yet fun-to-watch, relationship.
We also find out that Olivia was briefly engaged to Edison (I lovingly call him Pudding Pop) which is something we had no idea about when they rekindled the relationship during season 2. It was apparently serious enough for her to introduce Pudding Pop to Papa Pope.
2. Olivia gets an ultimatum
Rowan (Papa Pope) tells Olivia that if she wants to ever see Jake alive again, she must force her client, Jeannine Locke (the president’s fake mistress), to admit that she is the mistress on television. Jeannine agrees because of the $2 million she would be paid, but loses her chance when the Fitz holds a press conference and drops Jeannine’s name first.
3. Jake is back!
To complicate their relationship even more, Olivia calls her ex-lover, the President, and tells him to use his executive powers to release her other ex-lover, Jake, from the hell hole he was being held captive in. As usual, Fitz listens to Olivia and Jake shows up at her doorstep looking like a hobo. A cute hobo, though.
4. Huck chokes the Huck out of Olivia
Meanwhile, at the Pope & Associates (OPA) office, Huck finds out that Olivia’s dad was the man that controlled the B316 program that held him captive, tortured him, and kept him from ever seeing his wife and son.
How does he find out? Quinn sneaks into Olivia’s emails and finds that Olivia had been talking about Huck to her dad, but the conversation ceased after Huck joined OPA.
Huck then proceeds to go crazy on Olivia in the parking lot because she never told him the truth which led to one of the saddest scenes on “Scandal” to date.
5. Quote of the Night
Right after he lied to the American people and ruined Jeannine Locke’s life all in one press conference. Yes, Mr. Leader of the free world, your balls are very presidential.
Preview: Episode 3.03 “Mrs. Smith Goes to Washington”
Despite the fact that we haven’t even wrapped up all of the crazy storylines from last week, we now have to deal with a bomb threat at the White House.
Also, a question that has yet to be answered and needs to be addressed ASAP: What is in the Operation: Remington folder?
Tune in to tonight’s explosive episode at 10 p/9c on ABC.
