State Police discovered missing 22 year-old Chris Broussard’s body in his truck on Highway 30 in Iberville Parish Wednesday.
Baton Rouge helicopters spotted his truck in a waterway next to Highway 30. Baton Rouge Police say Broussard was last seen leaving a local bar, Bogies, at around 1 a.m. Tuesday. Authorities say he texted his mother he was on his way home in Ascension Parish but never showed. Later Tuesday, he was considered a missing person as friends and family members set up a search campaign via Facebook.
According to The Advocate, police spokesman Cpl. L’Jean McKneely said that investigators had no reason to suspect foul play in Broussard’s disappearance. As recently as Wednesday afternoon, LSU Communications and University Relations sent a campus email alerting students to Broussard’s disappearance.
