An 18-wheeler stopped traffic on North Stadium Drive Wednesday morning after hitting a low-hanging tree branch in front of the PMAC.
The WYES production truck en route to the PMAC for a basketball game was driving on the left lane of the gate to avoid hitting construction fences when it struck a branch at 10:50 a.m.
The truck had no damage, according to David Kennedy, the engineer in charge of mobile production for WYES.
The limb, which was hanging lower than usual because of the recent rain, is being removed, said Sgt. Melancon with LSUPD.
North Stadium Drive gate attendent Wanda Mitchell said the construction fences frequently cause trouble when trucks have to pass through the gate.
Mitchell directs trucks and other large trucks to drive on the other side of the gate to “keep them from breaking the gate.”
