Sugar Bowl:
LSU may be “still in the running” for a BCS bowl berth, but it’s not going to happen.
Capital One Bowl:
Even though LSU’s last Capital One appearance was unpleasant, it should be happy to accept a berth to the Capital One Bowl. However, with four teams ahead of the Tigers in the Southeastern Conference standings, it’s unlikely LSU will get selected.
Cotton Bowl:
The Cotton Bowl is the most realistic landing spot for LSU because of its place in the pecking order and Tiger fans’ propensity to fill up Jerry World. It would be LSU’s most entertaining destination because a potential matchup with Baylor or another high-powered Big 12 offense would set up a wild shoot-out. Playing close to Texas recruits won’t hurt either.
Outback Bowl:
The Outback Bowl is the second most likely destination, trailing only the Cotton. The Cotton Bowl would need to select South Carolina for LSU to go, but since the Gamecocks have been regulars at the Outback in recent years, that’s not impossible. LSU fans always love an opportunity to bully an overrated Big 10 team.
Chick-fil-A Bowl:
Considering how terrible the reviews were following last season’s trip to Atlanta, I doubt LSU is in any hurry to go back.
Gator Bowl:
Based on LSU’s resume, this is the worst possible bowl.
