LSU Sports Information Director Jake Terry confirmed that the account is in fact Holmes’, but could not give any further information at the time.
Associate Athletic Director Michael Bonnette tweeted confirmation that Holmes would be leaving the program.
#LSU is confirming that backup DB Kavahra Holmes is no longer part of the @LSUfball program. Holmes has decided to transfer.

Holmes did not record a statistic during the 2013 season, but did receive playing time against Mississippi State.
The Breaux Bridge, La., native was arrested last year for a fight near Broussard Hall on campus. Holmes was arrested and issued a misdemeanor summons for simple battery.
If Holmes were to transfer from LSU, it would be the third Tiger in recent weeks to announce a move, following quarterback Stephen Rivers and kicker James Hairston.
