On March 26, LSU Police Department officers arrested Richard Michael Eckler ,49, of 7840 Essen Cove, for burglary and contributing to the delinquency of a minor, said LSUPD spokesman Capt. Cory Lalonde.
LSUPD received a report from a victim who said their personal bag was stolen from the training room of the PMAC.
The victim reached out to LSUPD a second time after the victim was contacted by the Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office, which said some of the victim’s property had been turned in by Eckler, Lalonde said.
LSUPD proceeded to check surveillance footage from the PMAC, which revealed Eckler stealing random items as well as the victim’s bag from the training room with a juvenile suspect, Lalonde said.
Eckler admitted to stealing the items from the training room after he was contacted by investigators, Lalonde said.
Eckler was booked into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison for burglary and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
